I’ve tried some pretty shocking cordless personal blenders, so wasn't holding out much hope for this one - but actually it turns out to be pretty good. The blender has a rechargeable base that uses a standard USB-C charger. A USB-A to USB-C charging cable is included.
This has a system including a rechargeable base with blade section built in. I was a bit concerned to note that there is no covering for the USB port to keep water out whilst cleaning the integrated blade, but apparently it's waterproof and the base should be fine as long as it's not immersed. The top part is a sturdy 700ml bottle with a cap with a covered drinking spout and an interchangeable flat base that can be swapped on instead of the powered blade unit. The battery life is good.
The blender is quite powerful. In my video it's going through ice cubes, frozen cranberries, an orange, and a mix of juice and water. The ice cubes are bullet type ones made in a countertop ice maker machine, so aren't as solid and hard as ones made in ice cubes trays, but the cranberries are quite dense and hard set. This has no problems at all in going through this combination of things. The only thing I found a bit different to get used to is that for years I have been using a (corded) Ninja bullet personal blender and this requires you to add ingredients starting with the hardest, ending with the softest, and finally fluid… the Fridja cordless personal blender works in exactly the opposite order.
Parts are all hand wash only, but easy enough to keep clean. The system is light, powerful, and easy to use as well as readily portable - either with or without the powered base. A good thing: the first cordless portable blender I have liked using. I wouldn't mind being able to buy an extra cup or so, but at time of writing can't find these available.
