2 cloves garlic, peeled

1 knob ginger, peeled & chopped

A savoury juice with a proper kick. Garlic and ginger bring the heat, carrot gives it body and apple stops it getting too sharp.
Makes: about 2 small glasses (around 400ml). Prep: 10 minutes.
How to make it
- Core the apples and cut them into quarters.
- Top and tail the carrots. Peel the garlic and ginger.
- Juice the garlic and ginger first, then follow with the carrots and apple to push all the flavour through.
- Stir and taste. Add a squeeze of lemon if you'd like it fresher.
Tips and swaps
Two cloves of garlic is strong, so start with one if you're new to it. Sweet apples like Gala or Pink Lady balance the garlic best, while Bramley makes it sharper. Rinse the juicer straight after use so the garlic smell doesn't linger.
Which Fridja juicer to use
The f1900 Whole Fruit Juicer or the f2800 Open Whole Fruit Juicer. Both handle hard carrots and whole garlic cloves.
Storing it
Drink it fresh. The garlic gets stronger the longer it sits.
