Because there is a bang against the locking mechanism for the juice collector as the pith tray goes upward with the spinning top to press the oranges. Very happy with this machine. Its fairly quiet for what its doing. Once the lid is shut, its a hands free operation. We were using a smaller similar yoke purchased off here sometime last year, which was fine but.... Main differences noticed now are the noise level, the speed of juicing, very nice to see it get out mostly juice and very less pulp matter as the other would rip out the pulp too, leading to much more cleanup after. Overall super happy with this and can definitely recommend to others
